We visited Marshfield for the 2nd time this year and still have 1 more to go. Unfortunately, this was a weekend that a lot of other things was also going on, so our car count was a little low.
It was a nice warm day; Sun was in and out all day long. But it was Kamren Hill taking home quick time. He was followed by Phil, Anna, Tim, and Travis taking home 5th. Then it was Mark Dewey, Justin Schelitzche, Rylie, and Pat.
Heat 1 it was Justin and Rylie leading the group to the green, Justin had an issue at the start, so Pat took the line and tried to get moving along. Mark stepped it into gear and got by Rylie and then worked on Pat taking the lead. While in the lead, Mark lost it in the middle of 3 and 4 spinning out into the large puddle and spraying the track with water. Mark went in to get his windshield cleaned and went back out to join the field. Once they took the green, Mark worked past Rylie again and tried to get Pat but, could not. So, it was Pat with the win.
In heat 2, Everyone came to the green it was Travis and Tim leading the pack
Feature time. We had Justin and Mark leading the pack to the green. Justin getting a good jump but washing up the track a little as they enter turn 1. While you got Travis and others following down the back stretch, Phil comes shooting like a rocket as we almost have a battle 4 wide in the middle of 3 and 4 with Kamren, Mark, Anna, and Phil. Mark pulls the pin and backs out of it going down the front stretch. As they came out of 2 it was Kamren and Phil with Phil pulling ahead. It was then Travis Challenging Justin for the lead in 3 and 4. And Phil making a move to the inside making it a 3-way battle again. But it was Travis taking on some damage and not able to keep going at that point. Yellow flag flew. Everyone gets lined up, Travis gets back out there, and it is Justin and Phil in the front row coming to the green. Phil takes the lead and keeps on pushing, Justin falls back a little while Kamren and Anna was battling with him, Kamren gets into 2nd and Anna is right behind as they all try to catch Phil. But did Kamren have what was needed to catch and pass Phil? Just as it looked like Kamren was starting to make ground, he starts getting loose and feel back. In the end it was Phil taking home the win. He was followed by Kamren, Anna, Tim, and Mark in 5th. Then it was Justin, Pat, Rylie, and Travis.
The points have already been updated on the website. And our next race is at Madison Internation Speedway on the Quarter Mile for the Cheese Curd Cup on Aug 8th. Lets spread the word and pack the pits and the stands.
