This Saturday, May 16, we make our long-awaited return to Jefferson Speedway — and it’s been since 2022 since we last hit this track. We’re fired up to be back, joining the weekly show along with the Badger State Four Banger Shootout!
Let’s rewind to the last time we were here… because it was one for the history books.
Four years ago, we finally broke into Jefferson Speedway, and what a night it was. A total of 18 cars rolled in, setting the stage for an all-out war: locals vs. travelers. And let’s just say — the locals made it clear they knew every inch of that track.
💨 Qualifying set the tone early.
Mark Dewey lit up the clock, grabbing fast time and setting a Dash track record at 15.557. The big question heading into this weekend… does that record finally fall?
Right behind him were James Bohling, Karter Stark, George Sparkman, and Mark English rounding out a razor-tight top 5. The times were so close, it truly could have been anyone’s race.
🏁 Heat races brought the heat.
- Heat 1: Justin Pearson took the win
- Heat 2: Phil Malouf came out on top
- Fast Heat: Mark Dewey grabbed another victory
Then came the feature… and chaos followed.
Keith Bell and Tyler Edmudson led the field to green, controlling the early laps. But by lap 5, Merek Pankow charged to the front and tried to break away. Behind him? Absolute madness. Cars moving everywhere, drivers battling for every inch — an all-out, action-packed showdown.
By lap 6:
- Mark English was up to 2nd
- Phil Malouf was right on his bumper
- Mark Dewey and Karter Stark were slicing through the field from deep in traffic
Heavy traffic slowed their charge, but the pressure never let up.
Around lap 16, Phil Malouf worked his way into 2nd and started hunting for the lead — but Dewey was closing fast. By lap 23, Dewey made his move and set his sights on Pankow up front.
Meanwhile, Karter Stark was pushing hard, trying to crack the top 3, but just couldn’t get around Phil.
🚨 At the finish:
It was Merek Pankow taking the win — but just barely.
Mark Dewey crossed the line only 0.196 seconds behind, settling for 2nd after an incredible charge through the field.
- 3rd: Phil Malouf
- 4th: Karter Stark
- 5th: Mark English
That race was a battle of battles. The competition, the respect, the intensity — everything you want in racing was on full display.
And now… we’re coming back for more.
