Falloween 30 at Dells Raceway Park
What a day of racing. The action was hot throughout the track. 24 drivers showed up to see what they could do. With that said, the format did change. Many felt it was a better show for that. Top 8 was locked into the show. Odd and Even Qualifiers. 3 from each made it into the show. Then the last chance race. Top 4 made the show. And what a show it was. Qualifying. The number was 81 on up for single car qualifying. That put Mitch Strobel being the first one to set the bar. As drivers come out, some faster some slower. In the end it was Mark Dewey ripping off a fast time of 15.457 on his 2nd lap. He was followed by Phil Malouf, Shawn Kemnetz, Tim Anderson, and Justin Pearson in 5th. In 6th, it was Mark English. He was followed by Cameron Kemnetz, Carson Strese, Anna Malouf, and in 10th, John Preston. After that from 11th on was Justin Schelitzche, Mitch Strobel, Taylor Dawson, Shane Kohlmeier, Josh Mazur, Pat Dickman, Morgan Zerwinski,Zakary Chanda, Stephanie Wilson, Jacob Iverson, Al Strobel, Travis Hill, and Bob Peters. Lyle Phillips showed up after qualifying was over. So top 8 was locked in. That means the remaining 16 had to try and race in. So they were split up into an Even Qualifier and Odd Qualifier. In the Odd Qualifier, it was Justin Schelitzche and Anna Malouf bringing the group to the green flag. Anna was on the inside and as they went into the corner, the car pushed up into Justin, but all was good and able to keep going. Anna did get the lead but Justin was on her heals. Josh Mazur falls back to 5th and Taylor Dawson right with Anna and Justin. Al Strobel trying to make his move after having issue earlier in the day. He pulled the pin at lap 7. At the end of the it was Justin taking home the win. He was followed by Anna and Taylor making it in to the feature. After that, it was Morgan Zerwinski, Josh Mazur, Stephanie Wilson, Al Strobel, and Bob Peters. In the Even Qualifier, was the remaining 8 cars. Leading the cars to the green flag was John Preston and Mitch Strobel. Going into turn 1 Pat Dickman pushes up the track and gets into Mitch. And Travis Hill shoots like a cannon down the back stretch all the way to the front, but his issues came back and could not continue. All while Lyle Phillips has motors issues and pulls it into the infield bringing out the caution. As they all get back in line and take the green again, John takes off and gets a nice lead. The battles persist behind him. But could anyone make anything work? In the end, it was John Preston taking home the win and moving into the feature with Pat Dickman and Mitch Strobel. They were followed by Zakary, Shane, Jocob, Travis, and Lyle. Semi Feature time. This was a 10 lap race. Top 4 makes it in. It was Morgan and Zakary leading the group to the green flag with Morgan taking the early lead. Josh mazur putting in the work getting to 2nd and chasing Morgan. But it was Al Strobelcoming from the back to the front making the move on the outside past 2nd and working on 1st. after a lap, getting the lead from Morgan. The battle persist for the last position to get in the show between Stephanie and Zalary. But it was Stephani holding him off at the end. The winner was Al Strobel for the last Chance race. He was followed by Morgan, Josh, Stephanie, Zakary, Shane, Jacob, and Travis. It is now Feature time. We had Justing Schelitzche and John Preston leading the pack of hungry drivers to the green flag for the final race of the season. As they take the green flag, John take the early lead and Justin starts to have issues right away forcing him to fall back. Carson takes over 2nd with English on his heals. Cameron doing what he can to gets by Justing as he was way low coming out of turn 4. Tim moves to 4th with Anna and Phil on his heals. The inside line got slowed up allowing the outside to get moving. Going into turn 1 again and Dewey has issues sliding up the track allowing a couple of cars back in front of him. Back up front you have English putting in the work to get by Strese. Al has an issue again and gets it going as the leaders come up on him forcing Strese low while English gets around him. Then English sets his sites and gets around John. While Dewey starts picking drivers off in the back trying to get to the front. Dewey gets to Pearson and keeps on working. Then you have Tim and Strese battling it for 2nd. Tim all over his rear finally goes high but Strese not letting up. But Tim just kept at it. Then it was Phil going to the high side of Strese to get by. Dewey doing everything he can starts catching the pack. While Tim catches English. Tim putting the pressure on hard. Dewey gets along side of Strese as Strese gets loose and ends in the infield causing the caution. He gets it back on the track. But then pull into the pits to have it looked it. John Preston ends up with an issue on the front stretch. Safety crew gets him taken care of. The Cone comes out and everyone lines up inside and outside how they were in their spots coming back to the green. English gets the good jump and continues leading. The battle was with Dewey and Phil. Dewey clears Phil and starts to work on Tim. At one point was side by side and then Dewey just falls back a little and Phil was able to continue the battle. Battle for 6th was a good one between the Kemnetz cousins. While Tim goes after English. Dewey finally clears Phil but Pearson was right there to challenge him. All while Tim takes the lead from English and starts to pull away as they cross the line, it was Tim Aderson taking home the Falloween 30. He was followed by Mark English, Mark Dewey, Phil Malouf, Justin Pearson in 5th. In 6th it was Shawn Kemnetz. He was followed by Cameron Kemnetz. Anna Malouf, Pat Dickman, and Taylor Dawson in 10th. 11th on back was Josh Mazur, Mitch Strobel, Morgan Zerwinski, Stephanie Wilson, Al Strobel, Carson Strese, John Preston, and Justing Schelitzche. Man what a show put on by some of the best in the state of Wisconsin. All the drivers congratulated each other and raced hard and clean. Words from fans and other drivers, That was a heck of a race. Lots of respect amongst those drivers. Not one person moved anyone to get ahead. Good hard clean racing, the way it should be. Can’t wait to see them again. Huge Thank You for Drp for having us.
