Fall-O-Ween at Dells Raceway Park

This last Saturday was the final race of the season. Normally it ends at Oktoberfest. But this year was different. Dells Raceway Park is that difference.

The top drivers in the area made it to the race. Let alone, the top 3 in points for this season. Phil Malouf, Tim Anderson, Justin Pearson, Mark English, George Sparkman, Blake Nottestad, and many others. Who was going to come out on top? Time was to tell.

Few drivers did have an issue and was not able to make it to qualifying. But they did get their cars fixed for the races. But the top qualifier was Blake Nottestad. He was followed by George Sparkman, Tim Anderson, Mark English, and rounding out the top 5 in time was Justin Pearson. 6th on back was Shawn Kemnetz, Phil Malouf, Al Strobel, Tracy Neu, Anna Malouf, Pat Dickman, Stephanie Wilson, Taylor Dawson.

The way qualifying went, things will come down to the heat races and the feature.

In heat 1, you had Taylor and Stephanie lead the group to the green flag. Taylor had an issue and fell back fast, but Stephanie did what she could taking the lead, Tracy jumped from the back to the front in a hurry as the car decided it wanted to handle great, challenging Stephanie for the lead as the motor decided to expire causing oil on the track. Stephanie got loose and ended up hitting someone ending her race. After they got everything cleaned up, they were let loose to finish the race. Anna and Pat lead them to the green and Anna took off and never looked back. Travis tried to make a bid, but was not able to pull it off. They where followed by Pat, Taylow, Lyle, and Stephanie

Heat 2 was a battle to be seen. Phil and Al lead everyone to the green with them battling it hard for the lead. After a couple of laps, it was Al with the lead. Justin started battling it with Phil as every point was going to count. They got caught back up to Al and it became a 3 way battle. You can tell Al was loose and just doing what he could. After a little bit of bumping and juggling, Phil managed to pull out in front and take home the win. He was followed by Al, Justin, Shawn, Blake, George, Mark, and Tim.

This was shaping up to be a battle for the books in the feature.

Feature time. And man, what a show it was. You had Anna and Al leading the everyone to the green flag. Anna did what she could taking the lead from Al. but the yellow flag flew as something broke on Al’s car on the 2nd lap. After taking the Cone, It was Anna and Phil leading everyone back to the green. Phil took the lead but Mark was on his tail taking it over on lap 5 with George in tow. And making passes and doing what he could was Blake also in tow. Justin had an issue dropping him back a few spots while Tim was slowly making moves forward. Finally, Justin was able to get into the groove and started his comeback. At lap 13, Blake took the lead and tried to get away. George had an issue and dropped out. Setting the tone for Time to continue his hunt. Mark was in 2nd and doing everything he could, but at lap 26, Tim was able to over take him and try to caught Blake. Phil was right there and doing everything he could while Justin just could not have the luck he was looking for. After all said and done, It was Blake Nottestad taking home the final win of the season with Tim Anderson in 2nd. They were followed by Mark English, Phil Malouf, and Anna Malouf rounding out the top 5. In 6th, it was Justin Pearson. He was followed by Lyle Phillips, Travis Hill, Pat Dickman, and Taylor Dawson in 10th. Then it was Stephanie Wilson, George Sparkman, Al Strobel, Shawn Kemnetz, and Tracy Neu.

After all said and done, A champion was crowned. In this series, there is 1 race that is dropped for each person. With that drop, there was not enough points for anyone to take over the top spot. So, that put Phil Malouf taking home the tittle and making this his 5th championship with our series.
