We had a decent turnout for this race. 14 drivers showed up to tackle the track as we pay tribute to Greg Oliver the founder of the MidWest Dash Series.
In qualifying, it was Kyle Riedner taking home quick time. He was followed by Davey Pennell, Mark English, Phil Malouf, and rounding out the top 5 was Justin Pearson. In 6th it was Tyler Muller and he was followed by Anna Malouf, Tim Anderson, Mark Dewey, and rounding out the top 10 was Shawn Grabinger. 11 on back was Pete Doxey, Taylor Dawson, Travis Hill, and Ashley Bell.
Heat race time. Everyone was split into 2 heats. First heat w started with Ashley and Travis on the front row. As the green flag flew, everyone start going for position, but it was Shawn Grabinger taking home the Heat win. In heat race 2, it was Tyler and Justin leading the fast heat to the green flag. Everyone doing what they could and Tyler doing everything he could to hold off the 86 of Davey for the heat win.
Feature time. Anna and Tyler lead everyone to the green flag and the battles started. But the start of the race, Ashely went around on the first lap. Not sure if this was because of another issue or what, but Pete Doxey ended up pulling the pin after that also with a broken lateral arm Everyone lined back up and off they go, doing everything they can. While doing what they could, caution came out for lost exhaust. That brought everyone back. Green flag flew and the battles continued with Davey making his way to the front with Mark English trying to follow and Tyler in tow. As the laps counted down, the battles relaxed and it was nothing but green flag racing to the end with Davey taking home the win.
Congrats to Davey on the win. He was followed by Mark English, Tyler, Tim Anderson, and rounding out the top 5 was Phil. In 6th place it was Justin Pearson, he was followed by Anna, Taylor Dawson, Ashley, and Travis in 10th.

Our next event is the famous Oktoberfest Race weekend. Oct 5th is the night we will be racing on the 5/8’s mile track. Its always a blast and a fast track.
