This last Friday (6-6-25), we returned to the half mile of Madison International Speedway, and what a show it was. Many big hitters showed up, Mark English, Karter Stark, Phil Malouf, and many others. This was going to be a night to remember.
Everyone was able to take advantage of 3 practice sessions. Some only did 2, some did 3. From practice you can tell who has been here and those that have done some homework. Each time drivers went out, they kept getting better and better. But when it came time for single car qualifying, it was Mark Dewey taking home quick time and going the fastest he has ever gone at the half mile with a 21.237. He was followed closely by Mark English with a 21.282 and Karter Stark with a 21.285. Justin Pearson followed him in 4th and Anna Malouf rounding out the top 5 in time. Kamren Hill was 6th fastest with Tracy Nue, Justin Schelitzche, Phil Malouf, and Tim Anderson in 10th. Steve Dickson was 11th, followed by Al Strobel, Travis Hill, and Pat Dickmman in 14th.
Heat race 1 time and Travis Hill and Pat Dickmman lead the pack to the green flag. Travis doing everything he could to hang on to the lead with Tim Aderson on his heal. Justin Schelitzche and Phil battled it out for several laps with Justin taking the spot and both Justin and Phil making it past Tim at the end. Travis Hill took home heat 1 win with Justin right behind him. He was followed by Phil, Tim, Steve, Al, and Pat in 7th.
Heat race 2 was another great race. Kamren Hill and Tracy Nue lead the group to the green flag, but Tracy was not able to get going as well as Justing Pearson, Mark English and Karter made quick work getting by. Mark English worked his magic and got by Justin as fast as possible and set his sight on Kamren. While he was doing what he could, Karter made it past Justin, but it was too late. At the end it was Kamren with the win. English followed him and Karter right behind him. They were followed by Justin, Anna, Tracy, and Dewey.
By now, everyone knew it was going to be one heck of a feature. And it sure was. Steve Dickson and Al Strobel lead everyone to the green flag and everyone doing everything they could, but Steve had issues and fell to the back giving Al the lead. But like a rocket, Justin Schelitzche made his way to the front and took the lead away. With so much shuffling, it was intense and awesome racing. The battle of speed was kicking in and everyone had a dancing partner it seemed. Kamren, English, Stark, Phil, all right there as Kamren took the lead on lap 11 and Phil and Karter in tow. English was not out of it yet either. He got by Phil and the battles got even better, Karter and Kamren decided to swap the lead but Kamren taking it back a lap later to hold him off for the win. Karter was on his heals in 2nd with English in 3rd. In 4th, it was Phil and Justin Pearson in 5th. They were followed by Tim Anderson, Anna Malouf, Justin Schelitzche, Steve Dickson, and Al Strobel in 10th. Pat Dickmman in 11th followed by Tracy Nue, Mark Dewey, and Travis Hill.
