You wanted a show, we provided you a show. Man, what a day for racing. The weather was great, the cars where fast. And the action was awesome. The fans enjoyed the racing.
The 1/3 mile track did not disappoint. 15 drivers showed up. Had a few that was not able to make it as they ran into mechanical issues. Great turn out eitherway.
Qualifying we had Karter Stark lay down a blistering fast lap of 13.940 taking home quick time. He was followed by Shawn Kemnetz, Phil Malouf, Anna Malouf, and rounding out the top 5 was Mark English. This was going to be a great show. With the top 5 with in a half a second from quick time.
In the first Heat Race, we had Brian Marquardt and Pat Dickman leading the group to the green flag with Brian taking the early lead. But the fast mover Joe Kuehn made his way to the front and taking over the lead on Lap 4 and taking home the win. He was followed by Tyler Muller, Brian Marquardt, Justin Pearson, Travis Hill, Tim Finstand, and Pat Dickman.
In the second Heat Race, it was Josh Willhite and Mark Dewey leading the group to the green flag with Josh taking the lead. Fast mover Shawn Kemnetz made his way as fast as he could to the front but could not do it before Dewey spun out. That brought the field back together as they take the green with Josh still leading the race. Shawn did what he could but could not hold off the young and fast Karter Stark. Karter just did not have what it took to take the heat win. But, Josh Willhite was able to hold on for the win with Karter on his tail. They were followed by Shawn Kemnetz, Phil Malouf, Anna Malouf, Mark Dewey, and Mark English.
It is now feature time and it was looking to be one heck of a show. Joe Kuehn and Justin Pearson leads everyone to the green flag with Joe taking the lead. Josh Willhite made it to 2nd on lap 2 and did what he could till Karter Stark made his way and taking over 2nd on lap 10. There was many great battles through the race including Tim Anderson and Tyler Muller back and forth for multiple laps multiple times with Tim making the final pass on Tyler on lap24. Same with Mark Dewey and Anna Malouf, back and forth with Anna finally clearing Dewey on lap 20. Then she continues to do battle with her dad Phil till the end of the race. Shawn Kemnetz and Justin Pearson going back and forth a few time and right on each other. Then for the lead you had Karter Stark Challenging Joe Kuehn for the lead and putting on one heck of a show, but it was Joe Kuehn crossing the line first with Karter right there. They where followed by Josh Willhite, Justin Pearson, and rounding out the top 5 was Mark English. In 6th, it was Phil Malouf, Anna Malouf, Time Anderson, Tyler Muller, and Mark Dewey in 10th. 11th was Pat Dickman, followed by Brian Marquardt, Shawn Kemnetz, and Tim Finstad.
Unfortunately, after tech, Joe Kuehn was DQed and the win was given to Karter Stark. From time to time, things do happen.
Either way you look at it, the show was great and the battles where all over the place. Hearing a few fans saying how well the series raced was great. Always something going on the track. Good racing from the series. These are just some of the comments we got from fans. This is why we thank our drivers for doing what they can to make the show great for you. We do what we can for the fans. The drivers will travel hours to put on a show for you.
