Thrilling Race Day at State Park Speedway

On a beautiful Thursday in mid-June, State Park Speedway hosted a record-breaking event with 17 drivers taking to the track, making for an exhilarating day of racing. As the weeks go by, the competition keeps getting more intense, drawing in racers from all over Wisconsin, Illinois, and even Minnesota, alongside some talented locals.

The roster boasted names like Travis Hill, John Lietz, Justin Pearson, George Sparkman, Ashley Bell, Shawn Grabinger, Tyler Mueller, and many more, setting the stage for an unforgettable day of high-octane action. The top 10 qualifiers were separated by less than half a second, with Mark Dewey taking home the Quick Time. Tim Anderson was hot on his heels, followed by Justin Pearson, George Sparkman, and Jim Lietz rounding out the top five. The rest of the top 10 included Keegen Benz, Tyler Mueller, Gary Garand, John Lietz, and Travis Hill. Beyond the top 10, Anna Malouf, Shawn Grabinger, Phil Malouf, Brian Marquardt, Dale Louze, and Pat Dickman filled out the field, with Ashley Bell unfortunately not qualifying.

Heat Races Heat Up

In Heat Race 1, Pat Dickman and Dale Louze led the pack to the green flag. Pat initially pulled ahead, but Shawn Grabinger soon caught up and overtook him on lap 4. Travis Hill joined the fray, making for a thrilling race as he battled with Shawn before eventually taking the lead on lap 6 and securing the win.

Heat Race 2 saw Tyler Mueller and Gary Garand at the front. Gary took the lead on lap 2, and despite intense competition, managed to hold his position. The battle between the top drivers was fierce, with Gary ultimately taking the win, followed by Tyler, George Sparkman, Tim Anderson, Mark Dewey, Jim Lietz, Keegen Benz, and Justin Pearson.

The Feature Race: A Showstopper

The feature race promised to be a spectacular show, and it delivered in spades. Shawn Grabinger and Anna Malouf led the field to the green flag, quickly pulling away from the pack. The field was alive with movement, as drivers vied for every possible advantage. Tim Anderson and Mark Dewey clashed multiple times, while George Sparkman engaged in battles with Tim, Keegen, and Jim.

Just as the race reached a fever pitch, a yellow flag came out on lap 27 due to Pat Dickman’s car leaking fuel, setting up a dramatic three-lap shootout. The top qualifiers, now in 4th, 6th, and 8th positions, were ready to make their move. The green flag waved, and the race was on. Despite fierce efforts from all, it was Shawn Grabinger who emerged victorious, claiming his first-ever Midwest Dash Series A-Main win. Anna Malouf, Travis Hill, Tim Anderson, and Mark Dewey rounded out the top five, followed by Tyler Mueller, Justin Pearson, Jim Lietz, George Sparkman, and John Lietz in the top ten.

From 11th place onwards, Phil Malouf, Brian Marquardt, Keegen Benz, Pat Dickman, Dale Louze, Ashley Bell, and Gary Garand completed the lineup.
